Dr. Randy A. Albrecht, PhD, RBP(ABSA), CBSP(ABSA), is a dedicated expert in biosafety and biosecurity, committed to the safe and responsible conduct of basic, clinical, and applied research. With over 20 years of academic research focused on viral emerging infectious diseases, Dr. Albrecht’s life science expertise is well-established. He has served as director of biocontainment facilities that support the conduct of research involving emerging infectious diseases. He has over 10 years of real-world experience leading biosafety and biosecurity programs at academic institutions. Dr. Albrecht plays an active role in shaping industry standards and policies through his involvement in ABSA International committees and working groups, the ASM’s Public and Scientific Affairs Committee (PSAC), and co-authorship of articles on life sciences policy and the biosafety profession.
